1. What these terms cover

These terms form the agreement between you and the company whose details are set out at the foot of this page. They apply every time you use the site or convert a file, whether or not you hold an account.

If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

Two other documents form part of the same agreement: the Acceptable Use Policy, which sets out what you may and may not put through the converters, and the Privacy Policy, which sets out what we do with your data. Where the Acceptable Use Policy is stricter than these terms about a particular use, the stricter wording applies.

2. The service

We convert files between formats on our own servers. The conversion is performed by established software, principally sharp for images, LibreOffice for documents and ffmpeg for audio and video, together with converters we maintain ourselves for data and font formats.

The directions we support are published in the catalog on the site. That catalog is generated from the engines that are actually running, so it is the authoritative statement of what the service can do at any moment. We do not undertake to support any direction that is not listed there, and a direction may be withdrawn if the underlying engine stops supporting it reliably.

We do not promise that a converted file will be fit for any particular purpose. Format conversion is lossy in many directions, and the result depends on the source file. Check the output before you rely on it.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.

You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it.

You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. We may suspend an account where the information given is false.

4. Credits, prices and payment

The service is paid for in credits. You buy a balance of credits, and each conversion draws from that balance according to the type of file. The current cost per type and the available amounts are published on the pricing page.

Prices may be displayed in your local currency for convenience. The charge is taken in EUR, and the conversion rate applied by your bank or card issuer is a matter between you and them. The checkout page states the currency of the charge before you confirm.

We may change prices at any time. A change does not affect credits you have already bought, which are spent at the cost in force when each conversion runs.

A number of first conversions are provided free of charge, as stated on the pricing page. That allowance is per account and is not transferable.

Payment is taken by a third party payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card details.

5. Refunds and failed conversions

If a conversion fails for a reason on our side, the credits it consumed are returned to your balance automatically. That return is the whole of our obligation for a failed conversion.

A conversion that completes is not refundable because you are dissatisfied with the result. The free allowance exists so that you can test the output on your own files before paying.

Unused credits are refundable only where a right of refund is given to you by law. If you believe you have such a right, write to us and we will deal with the request on its merits.

6. Your files

You keep every right you already have in the files you upload. We claim no ownership of them and no licence beyond what is needed to run the conversion you asked for and to return the result to you.

You confirm that you hold the rights necessary to upload each file and to have it converted, and that doing so breaks no law and no obligation you owe to anyone else.

Files are handled as follows. The source is deleted as soon as the conversion succeeds. The result is available for the period published on the site and is then removed automatically. Your job history records the format, the size and the status of a conversion, never the contents of the file. Because of this, we cannot recover a file for you once it has expired, and you should download a result while the job is still in front of you.

7. Acceptable use

The Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may not put through the service and how you may not access it. Breaking it is a breach of these terms.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may suspend it for maintenance, and we may add, change or withdraw formats, directions and limits.

Where a change materially reduces what you can do with credits you have already bought, we will tell you before it takes effect.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

If you use the service in the course of a business, you accept that this allocation of risk is reasonable given the price of the service.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time and may ask us to close your account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where we are required to do so by law. Where the breach is not serious and can be put right, we will normally give you the chance to put it right first.

On closure, any unused credits are forfeited unless the closure was our fault or a refund is required by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. A change applies to conversions run after it is published, and your continued use of the service after that date means you accept it.

12. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
